Kno2, Avizia partner for rural telehealth expansion

Boise, Idaho-based Kno2, a healthcare workflow optimization company, and Reston, Va.-based Avizia, a telehealth solution provider, have partnered to expand rural telehealth access.

Using Kno2's document exchange solution, patient information in Avizia's telehealth platform can be sent directly to a partner hospital's EHR.

A health system in the rural Southwest first pioneered the collaborated solution. Since implementing it in December 2015, the system has exchanged 1,500 direct messages with patients, meaning patients didn't have to travel long distances to get to the nearest healthcare facility.

"We are thrilled to join with Avizia to provide turnkey telehealth and patient document exchange services to those who suffer most from reduced access to specialist care — our rural communities," said Kno2 President and Chief Technology Officer Therasa Bell in a statement.
