The company has named James Reid CIO of its new employee experience and corporate tech organization, effective immediately, the Journal reports. Mr. Reid joined JPMorgan in 2019 as head of its corporate tech division’s engineering and architecture team.
Mr. Reid is the first Black CIO at JPMorgan Chase and the first Black member of the tech leadership team that reports to Global CIO Lori Beer. In the new position, Mr. Reid will oversee efforts to build a “seamless and unified digital interface” across common employee-facing technologies, according to the report. The tech systems he will develop will focus primarily on human resources, diversity and inclusion, legal and corporate responsibility initiatives.
JPMorgan Chase also appointed Melissa Goldman CIO for the company’s newly reorganized finance, risk, data and controls technology unit. She was previously CIO of JPMorgan’s corporate technology division and was named chief data officer last fall.
Ms. Goldman will remain JPMorgan Chase’s chief data officer in addition to the new role.
