JDRF, formerly known as the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, has developed the Diabetes Data Platform to curate Type 1 diabetes research, then make it available to researchers, healthcare providers and other stakeholders such as the Food and Drug Administration, according to an Oct. 5 AWS blog post. The project was funded through an AWS Imagine Grant.
The goal is to advance the screening and treatment for Type 1 diabetes. AWS hosts the data sets and provides security for them.
Future advances may utilize data from medical devices worn by patients with Type 1 diabetes, as well as genomic data sets, the blog post stated.
