A new survey conducted by Black Book indicates healthcare providers will increasingly turn to IT outsourcing solutions as financial uncertainty persists.
Black Book gathered input from 1,030 hospital CIOs and IT leaders and 243 CFOs and financial executives. Additionally, the survey includes input from 1,395 outpatient, alternative care and physician practices.
Here are three things to know from the survey.
1. Of all the surveyed hospitals and health systems with more than 300 beds, 73 percent are seeking outsourced technology solutions for applications development and complex infrastructure services.
2. The majority of providers with less than 300 beds (81 percent) also indicated complex IT outsourcing as top priority for 2016.
3. Nearly all CIOs (91 percent) and CFOs (86 percent) are willing to use the most effective combination of hospital staff and outsourced solutions when it comes to IT.
