IT jobs are ranked second only to finance in terms of overall benefits, according to the survey, which sampled more than 470,000 Glassdoor benefit reviews broken down into eight industries. The study analyzed satisfaction on a one to five scale, with one indicating low satisfaction and five indicating high satisfaction. Overall IT benefits ranked 3.68.

In particular, maternity and paternity leave ranked 3.71 for IT, second to finance, which ranked 3.77. Additionally, IT benefits related to free lunch and snacks received the highest ranking, at 4.06.

Retirement plan options for IT jobs came in at No. 5 out of the eight industries, with a 3.36 ranking.

“Benefits are an important and growing part of total compensation for American workers. Unlike salaries, benefit packages are highly diverse. Access to benefits matters, but so does the quality of those benefits,” according to the report.
