Intermedix acquires WPC Healthcare to add data science capabilities

Nashville, Tenn.-based Intermedix Corp., a health IT company, completed its acquisition of WPC Healthcare, also based in Nashville.

Intermedix, a data analytics and cloud-based technology provider, is acquiring WPC to expand its data science capabilities. In 2015, Intermedix established an analytics business unit, which focuses on identifying trends in quality, clinical, operational, utilization and financial metrics. Now, with the acquisition of WPC Healthcare, the company can add machine learning and predictive analytics solutions to its analytics. WPC's data science team will join the business analytics team at Intermedix.

"In the coming years healthcare will continue to evolve and experience rapid change," said Portice. "As such, we believe that we need to further integrate the business of healthcare to healthcare delivery."
