Intel partners with 3 UK institutions for AI cancer detection

Intel joined forces with three English institutions to identify cancer cells using artificial intelligence.

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust, Coventry-based University of Warwick and London-based Alan Turing Institute will work with Intel to create a computational model that recognizes different types of lung cancer.

The institutions will develop the model on a large-scale digital repository of tumor images created by University of Warwick's tissue image analytics laboratory. University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust will also annotate these images to inform the algorithm.

The collaboration is part of Alan Turing Institute's partnership with Intel, which launched in April and focuses on computational data science.
