Tulsa, Okla.-based Saint Francis Health System has rolled out a hospital-at-home program it says will continue even if Medicare reimbursement stops.
The health system launched acute hospital care at home in collaboration with local payer CommunityCare, which is jointly owned by Saint Francis and Tulsa-based Ascension St. John, according to a Jan. 26 news release shared with Becker’s. This means the care offering will keep going even if the CMS hospital-at-home waiver, which expires Jan. 30, does not.
“Sustainability requires alignment,” CommunityCare President and CEO Josiah Sutton stated in the release. “This partnership supports innovation that is clinically sound, operationally integrated and built to endure.”
The program, which is being operated with home care company DispatchHealth, is also the first of its kind in northeast Oklahoma.
