Saint Francis Health System, based in Tulsa, Okla., is working to build a pipeline of information technology talent through direct engagement with students at Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology.
Five IT managers from the health system met with OSUIT information technology students during an April 2 meet-and-greet event focused on careers, skills and job opportunities.
The event was proposed by Saint Francis officials, who contacted OSUIT about having IT managers meet with students, according to an April 27 news release from the university.
The event also gave Saint Francis representatives an opportunity to speak with students about potential employment opportunities. Saint Francis has an established relationship with OSUIT, and many graduates go on to work for the health system. Saint Francis administrators also serve on OSUIT’s Industry Advisory Board, providing input on curriculum and industry needs.
