Orlando (Fla.) Health has opened a new innovation hub at the University of Central Florida in Orlando.

The Orlando Health Strategic Innovations space is located within the university’s innovation building and is designed to bring together health system leaders, students and faculty to address real-world clinical and operational challenges. The initiative aims to accelerate the development and testing of healthcare solutions in a collaborative academic setting.

Early efforts have focused on areas such as cancer research, digital health, artificial intelligence and orthopedic innovations.

The facility spans about 2,649 square feet and will serve as an extension of Orlando Health’s downtown headquarters. It is jointly funded by Orlando Health Ventures and the health system’s innovation team, according to an April 30 news release.

At the Becker's 11th Annual IT + Revenue Cycle Conference: The Future of AI & Digital Health, taking place September 14–17 in Chicago, healthcare executives and digital leaders from across the country will come together to explore how AI, interoperability, cybersecurity, and revenue cycle innovation are transforming care delivery, strengthening financial performance, and driving the next era of digital health.
