NorthShore University HealthSystem Glenbrook Hospital (Glenview, Ill.). NorthShore University HealthSystem made a commitment to go green and took a huge leap forward in 2015 when the system eliminated polystyrene containers; the change saved around 22,000 garbage bags of Styrofoam annually. At the hospital level, Glenbrook Hospital received the Greening the OR Recognition Award and Greenhealth Emerald Award from Practice Greenhealth in 2016 and committed to all six Healthier Hospital Initiative Challenges.
