AI-powered referral management company Tennr has named two major healthcare heavyweights as industry advisors: Toby Cosgrove, MD, former president and CEO of Cleveland Clinic, and Cindy Hundorfean, former president and CEO of Pittsburgh-based Allegheny Health Network.
Both advisors will work directly with Tennr’s product and clinical teams as the New York City-based company expands into large integrated delivery networks, where referral volume, payer complexity and staffing pressure are straining administrative operations.
Dr. Cosgrove led Cleveland Clinic for 13 years, growing it into an $8 billion health system serving nearly 8 million patients annually. During his tenure, he created the chief patient experience officer role and reorganized clinical service lines to allow the system to fill 98% of same-day appointment requests.
Ms. Hundorfean led Allegheny Health Network from 2016 to 2023, driving an $85 million financial turnaround in under two years and directing more than $2 billion in capital investment across five new hospitals and six cancer centers. She also served as chief living health development officer at Highmark Health and chief administrative officer at Cleveland Clinic, where she oversaw a $5.5 billion net revenue budget.
