Through the deal, Children’s National will acquire a 348,000-square-foot research facility, a conference center, auditorium, former ambulatory clinic used to treat soldiers and a 341,000-square-foot parking garage, according to the report.
Hospital leaders also plan to build a new outpatient clinic on the land.
They hope to start construction on the site by the end of 2017 and welcome researchers to the hub by the end of 2018.
