Coral Gables-based Baptist Health South Florida will partner with Amazon One Medical to connect primary and specialty care across the region, effective Aug. 1.
Under the agreement, patients of One Medical — Amazon’s hybrid in-person and virtual primary care company, which operates multiple offices in the Miami area — will be able to move directly into Baptist Health’s specialty network when they need higher-acuity care. Existing One Medical members will keep their current primary care physicians, and the organizations said they are working to avoid any interruption in care.
“By combining Baptist Health’s clinical excellence with One Medical’s modern approach to primary care, we’re creating a seamless healthcare experience that meets the evolving needs of our community,” Baptist Health President and CEO Bo Boulenger said in a June 9 news release.
One Medical now partners with University of Miami Health System in South Florida. The company has local health system collaborators in its roughly 20 other markets. One Medical memberships are available as an Amazon Prime add-on for $9 per month or $99 per year and include around-the-clock, on-demand virtual care.
