Coral Gables, Fla.-based Baptist Health Foundation has received a $2 million gift to establish the Baptist Health Innovations Collaborative Innovation Fund, a philanthropic initiative aimed at accelerating healthcare innovation and expanding strategic partnerships.
The gift, provided by the Argosy Foundation, will issue flexible seed funding to help move promising healthcare ideas from concept to validation and implementation.
It will also support collaboration with Florida International University, Florida Atlantic University and other academic institutions on healthcare technology, applied artificial intelligence and care delivery innovation.
The Collaborative Innovation Fund is designed to fill a gap left by traditional research grants, giving Baptist Health physicians and clinicians nimble, early-stage funding to test new concepts before broader implementation, according to an Aug. 19 news release.
The Argosy Foundation is a private family foundation.
