The head of medical affairs must have a medical or scientific background. The company is looking for MDs, DOs, NPs, PAs, PhDs or PharmDs with more than seven years of medical or life science industry experience and more than five years of experience in leadership roles.
According to the job description, the head of medical affairs will work on a fast-paced, highly collaborative team “organized like a startup,” and will be responsible for creating and leading the medical affairs team.
“The candidate will need to use high judgment and consistently Think Big to make convincing, data-based arguments. This includes providing leadership for clinical evidence generation strategy, scientific and compliance oversight for Amazon-sponsored and Investigator initiated Research, and medical and scientific interactions with key opinion leaders,” according to the job description.
The head of medical affairs will also facilitate company-sponsored clinical studies and establish review standards and committee processes.
Base pay for the role ranges from $130,200 to $242,200 per year.
