3 biotech company layoffs

Here are three recent layoffs in the biotech sector that Becker’s has reported on since July 25:

1. Biotech company 2seventy bio is cutting 176 positions — equivalent to 40 percent of its workforce.

2. Absci, a company using generative artificial intelligence in the drug discovery process, laid off 30 employees or about 15 percent of its staff.

3. Biogen will cut about 1,000 jobs as it plans to save $700 million by 2025.
