Andrew and Ann Tisch made the gift to further discoveries in precision, genomics-based medicine and artificial intelligence and machine learning in healthcare. The money will endow the professorship of the inaugural chair of systems and computational medicine at Weill Cornell and endow two professorships of health technology at Cornell Tech.

“Next-generation technology has the potential to transform the healthcare landscape, providing crucial new scientific insights that will optimize and personalize the care we give our patients,” said Augustine Choi, MD, the Stephen and Suzanne Weiss Dean of Weill Cornell Medicine, in a Dec. 8 university news release. “Andrew and Ann Tisch’s generous gift, for which we are profoundly appreciative, will help us realize this potential.”

Mr. Tisch, a graduate of Cornell, is the co-chair of Loews Corp., which his father and uncle founded. Ms. Tisch is a former NBC News correspondent.
