The calculator helps providers participating in the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System, one of the pathways offered under the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act, estimating the payments they will owe under the new rule. The calculator allows providers to enter variables related to MIPS incentives, and also accounts for factors like the budget neutrality factor and average amount of Medicare part B per provider.
After integrating this information, the MIPS Calculator will generate a projected MIPS score and payment adjustment for the upcoming performance year, along with a breakdown of how each component the provider included contributes to the final outcome. The ultimate goal is to assist providers as they analyze their practice through the lens of the MACRA final rule.
