IBM Watson exec leaves after 9 months on the job

The recently appointed head of IBM's Cognitive Business Solutions group has stepped down from his position, reports the Wall Street Journal.

Stephen Pratt joined IBM nine months ago. He did not indicate why he is leaving IBM or what he plans to do next, according to the report.

"IBM is a great company with great people and a bright future in cognitive computing," Mr. Pratt offered WSJ.

IBM's Cognitive Business Solutions group focused on data analytics and artificial intelligence, which includes IBM's supercomputer Watson.
