IBM Watson creates 3 APIs to analyze emotions

IBM Watson’s three new application program interfaces available to developers boost the supercomputer’s emotional and visual capabilities.

The cognitive APIs are available to developers in beta form, and are designed to help developers create technological solutions to better think, perceive and empathize.

The APIs include Tone Analyzer, Emotional Analysis and Visual Recognition.

“We continue to advance the capabilities we offer developers on IBM’s Watson platform to help this community create dynamic [artificial intelligence] infused apps and services,” said David Kenny, general manager of IBM Watson. “We are also simplifying the platform, making it easier to build, teach and deploy the technology. Together, these efforts will enable Watson to be applied in many more ways to address societal challenges.”
