The company’s Chief Technology Officer Jerry Cuomo said he sees IBM’s blockchain as a “fully-flexible blockchain platform, built around a well-managed open source distributed ledger technology, that can truly run in virtually any computing infrastructure.”
IBM designed its upgraded blockchain platform to have a hybrid multicloud approach. The IBM Blockchain Platform allows users to deploy public clouds on company-hosted private clouds. This is to allow blockchain networks to work across multiple environments.
Additionally, the blockchain platform now allows users to manage the entire lifecycle of a blockchain network.
“Developers can now easily move from development to test to production from a single console. Included within the extension are code samples and tutorials, enabling any developer to easily become a blockchain developer,” Mr. Cuomo said.
IBM’s new blockchain gives users “complete control” of identities, the ledger and smart contracts.
