IBM laid off 1,700 employees in June. Along with the company’s efforts to “align its focus on the high-value segments of the IT market,” IBM is seeking to aggressively hire blockchain talent.
People familiar with the layoffs said the product and development teams for IBM’s blockchain division experienced no layoffs.
“Blockchain skills are the priority. And we’re full-steam ahead of blockchain. We plan to grow for a very long time,” Jerry Cuomo, vice president of blockchain at IBM told CoinGeek.
