IBM hacker group launches blockchain security testing

IBM’s X-Force Red, a team of security experts, has released a new blockchain testing service aimed at identifying weaknesses and strengthening blockchain security.

X-Force Red tests systems to evaluate the back-end process used to manage the technology networks and ledger environment. The new service is designed to assess the entire blockchain implementation, including chain code, public key infrastructure and hyperledgers.  

The team also tests applications and hardware used to control access and manage blockchain networks. During blockchain testing, X-Force Red will study:

  • Identity and Access
  • Smart contract flaws
  • Software supply chain attacks

X-Force Red hackers specialize in breaking into blockchain networks.
