Called Watson Health for ResearchKit, the new offering provides storage for up to 1 TB of research data for up to three years at no charge for nonprofit researchers whose studies already have approval from an institutional review board.
For an additional price, researchers can gain access to Watson Analytics to assist in further analytics.
According to iMedicalApps, the offering could be a game changer for many researchers, as storing patient data in a manner compliant with HIPAA is one of the more costly elements of conducting a research study.
