HIMSS19 unveils 17 award winners

The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society will present 12 awards honoring members who have helped support the group's mission of "transformation of health through information and technology" during HIMSS19, which takes place Feb. 11-15 in Orlando, Fla.

Honorees of the 12 awards:

1. American College of Clinical Engineering-HIMSS Excellence in Clinical Engineering and IT Synergies Award: Bridget Moorman

2. College of Healthcare INformation Management Executives-HIMSS John E. Gall Jr. CIO of the Year Award: Ed Kopetsky

3. HIMSS-Association of Medical Directors of Information Systems Physician Executive Leader of the Year Award: John Lee, MD

4. HIMSS-Alliance for Nursing Informatics Nursing Informatics Leadership Award: Nancy Beale, MSN, RN

5. Society for Health Systems-HIMSS Excellence in Healthcare Management Engineering/Process Improvement Award: Mary Ellen Skeens

6. HIMSS John A. Page Distinguished Fellows Service Award: Charles Christian

7. HIMSS Early Careerists Service Award: L. Nikki Manuel, MSN, RN

8. Most Influential Women in Health IT Awards:

  • Aashima Gupta
  • Kisha Hortman Hawthorne, PhD
  • Christine Hudak, PhD, RN
  • Lygeia Ricciardi
  • Heather Sulkers

9. Kate Granger Compassionate Care Award: Henry Xiang, MD, PhD

10. HIMSS Chapter Leader of the Year Award: Tommy Lewis, president of the Tennessee chapter of HIMSS

11. HIMSS Chapter of the Year Award:

  • Medium chapter: Houston chapter of HIMSS
  • Large Chapter: Tennessee chapter of HIMSS

12. HIMSS Chapter Advocate of the Year: Lauren Wiseman, MSN, RN
