HIMSS Recognizes Six Healthcare Organizations with Awards for Implementation of Health IT

HIMSS has awarded six healthcare organizations the HIMSS Davies Awards of Excellence for delivering quality care to patients through the use of healthcare information technology, specifically electronic health records, according to a HIMSS news release.

The awards fall under four categories: organizational, ambulatory, community health organization and public health. The following organizations received these awards:

HIMSS Organizational Davies Award
•    Sentara Healthcare (Norfolk, Va.)
•    Nemours (Wilmington, Del.)

HIMSS Ambulatory Davies Award
•    The Diabetes Center (Ocean Springs, Miss.)
•    Miramont Family Medicine (Ft. Collins, Colo.)

Community Health Davies Award
•    Open Door Family Medical Center (Ossining, N.Y.)

Public Health Davies Award
•    Wisconsin Division of Public Health’s Wisconsin Immunization Registry
