The $87 million will be distributed among 1,310 health centers. According to HHS, this is the “first significant investment” awarded to health centers to purchase health information technology since 2009.
“Health centers across the country are instrumental in providing high-quality, comprehensive primary healthcare to millions of people,” said HHS Secretary Sylvia Mathews Burwell in a statement. “This investment will help unlock healthcare data and put it to work, improving health outcomes and building a better healthcare system for the American people.”
