HHN names 1st non-US hospital to ‘Most Wired’ list

Cambridge University Hospitals in England became the first healthcare organization outside of the U.S. to rank among Hospitals & Health Networks‘ annual “Health Care’s Most Wired” list of hospitals and health systems with advanced technological practices.

The list is based on Hospitals & Health Networks’ 19th Most Wired survey, which included 698 participants representing an estimated 2,158 hospitals primarily from the U.S., and was conducted with the help of the American Hospital Association. It examined hospitals’ cybersecurity practices, EHR integration, population health tools and overall technology adoption.

Cambridge University Hospitals — a U.K. National Health Service hospital — credited the “Most Wired” recognition to its “eHospital” program, which aims to leverage digital technology to improve patient care.

“Like any major change, our digital transformation has had its challenges, but CUH is now leading the way in terms of hospital tech and the advances made here are set to benefit the entire NHS,” said Dr. Jag Ahluwalia, medical director and executive lead for the eHospital program.
