The company behind telehealth stations in locations such as universities and schools, prisons, military bases and in developing nations is adding sponsorships rapidly. The Dublin, Ohio-based company was founded in 2010.
HealthSpot signed a strategic partnership with Rite Aid on Nov. 7, 2014 to place its telehealth stations in some Rite Aid stores, and it closed another partnership deal with Xerox five days later for Xerox to host HealthSpot’s system integration, cloud hosting, claims eligibility and claims submissions, according to MedCity News.
Inside the HealthSpot kiosks are a monitor to correspond with a physician, a stethoscope, thermometer, otoscope, blood pressure cuff, pulse oximeter, a magnascope and a scale to allow patients to receive a medical checkup remotely. Each kiosk has an attendant to admit patients, and has corresponding software to set appointments and manage health records.
