Healtheway, a nonprofit based in McLean, Va., that operationally supports the eHealth Exchange, launched the Carequality Initiative to promote interoperability between systems and establish a common HIE.
Cassel will oversee Carequality. At Epic, he worked primarily on HIE and interoperability issues. He has been in the industry for 17 years.
“Having spent the last decade focused on interoperability, I think the time is right for Carequality,” Cassel said in a news release from Healtheway. “I welcome the opportunity to jump in with both feet.”
