Healthcare 2nd most-funded sector based on VC investments, report finds

Venture capital-backed companies in the U.S. received $71.9 billion in investments in 2017, an increase of 17 percent from 2016, according to a joint report by PwC and CB Insights.

Here are the five industry sectors that received the most VC funding in 2017.

1. Internet: $6.5 billion

2. Healthcare: $4 billion

3. Mobile and telecommunications: $3.8 billion

4. Software: $1.6 billion

5. Consumer products and services: $400,000 million
