Klara, a health technology startup focused on communication, raised $11.5 million in series A financing round, according to Tech Crunch.
Klara offers a HIPAA-compliant messaging service that lets all departments of a practice, from the clinical side to the billing and scheduling teams, communicate via text regarding a patient. Additionally, the practice's staff can communicate directly with patients.
In the long term, the company hopes to add services, such as payments, pharmacy and scheduling, to its messaging software.
FirstMark Capital led the round, with participation from existing investors Lerer Hippeau, Project A Ventures and Atlantic Labs.
