Hardware failure cancels surgeries at MaineHealth

Three surgeries had to be canceled at MaineHealth due a hardware failure, NBC affiliate WCSH reported April 17.

The health system told the news outlet it had suffered a hardware failure that caused an outage of its patient information system. The outage occurred for about four and a half hours, causing three surgeries to be rescheduled. 

Portland-based MaineHealth has since resolved the issue.
