Hamilton Health Care will be 1st in US to use PrisMax ICU therapy delivery platform

Deerfield, Ill.-based medical device maker Baxter International announced Aug. 13 that Hamilton Health Care System in Dalton, Ga., will be the first in the U.S. to deploy the PrisMax technology system to treat ICU patients with acute kidney injury.

The PrisMax platform, which was designed based on input from more than 650 providers around the world and received FDA clearance for use in the U.S. in July, supports the treatment of AKI with automated monitoring of the setup and delivery of care throughout the continuous renal replacement and organ therapy process.

Additionally, the PrisMax technology integrates directly into a provider's EHR platform. Nurses in the ICU are therefore able to devote more time to treating patients than to documenting their treatment data, according to Elwyn Clark, DO, director of critical care medicine at Hamilton.
