Google Vice President of Engineering Amit Ganesh and Google Cloud Director of Product Management Dominic Preuss described the details of the tech giant’s acquisition plan in a blog post on the company’s website Feb. 19.
“One of the things we’re most excited about with Alooma is the deep expertise for both enterprise and open-source databases that their team brings to Google Cloud, which will be critical in helping us build out additional migration capabilities within Google Cloud Platform,” Mr. Ganesh and Mr. Preuss wrote.
Alooma specializes in helping companies streamline database migration in the cloud through a data pipeline tool. The company developed the tool to move data from multiple sources to a single data warehouse.
