Diane Greene, senior vice president of Google Cloud, recently announced this project at an event at the company headquarters. The team will be led by Fei-Fei Li, PhD, an associate professor in the computer science department at Stanford University in California, and Jia Li, who previously served as the head of research at Venice, Calif.-based Snapchat, according to Business Insider.

“What really attracted these two people to come and be in Google Cloud is a chance to democratize machine learning and artificial intelligence,” Ms. Greene told Reuters.
