Google Cloud Senior Developer Advocate Allen Day is reportedly heading up the project, which aims to combine Bitcoin Core and Ethereum blockchains into Google’s BigQuery platform.
Search engine blockchains require a block explorer, which is capable of retrieving data on specific transaction numbers. Google’s Blockchain ETL is reportedly being designed to allow the entire blockchain to be searched.
Google began developing the blockchain search engine in 2018 and has since received accolades from those familiar with the technology. It is unclear when the blockchain search engine will be available to users.
Other tech companies investing in blockchain include Microsoft, Amazon and Oracle.
