Going green: Children’s Health to garner 25% of its energy from renewable sources by July

Children’s Health, based in Dallas, has pledged itself to a renewable energy plan, according to The Dallas Morning News report.

By July, the health system aims to have 25 percent of its electricity to come from wind and solar sources.

Children’s Health’s green promise is healthcare’s second largest renewable energy vow following Kaiser Permanente, according to the report. The Oakland, Calif.-based healthcare provider announced plans for three renewable energy projects, expected to come online next year.
