The eighth Global Information Security Workforce Study included responses from 19,000 information security professionals from around the world.
Here are four insights into the next generation of the cybersecurity workforce:
1. Millennials will be critical for filling the projected employment gap in the workforce.
2. Forty-six percent of the millennial information security worker group value diversity, with 66 percent able to speak more than one language.
3. More than half (65 percent) of the millennial worker group believe organizational training programs are important. Forty-six percent believe mentorship programs and 36 percent believe leadership programs are very important.
4. The millennial information security worker group is more likely to be optimistic about their companies performance metrics (58 percent), as compared to the gen X (51 percent) and baby boomer groups (48 percent).
