During the three-hour procedure, the iPad was used to film the liver and overlay a 3D model created from pre-surgery planning data to help guide surgeons, according to the report.
“When he could see the liver he used the iPad to localize the two tumors in the liver. It was very exciting,” said a photographer present at the surgery, according to the report.
