GE Healthcare inks cloud, data analytics collab with Amazon

GE Healthcare will move its artificial intelligence-based imaging applications and secure intelligence platform to Amazon Web Services, the companies said Aug. 9.

By moving the two platforms to AWS, GE Healthcare will let hospitals and imaging centers adopt cloud and hybrid implementations. Hybrid systems comprise both cloud and on-premises solutions.

GE Healthcare's Edison TruePACS system will be the first AI-enabled imaging solution available under the new AWS offering. The medical imaging storage system provides hospitals with an AI-powered diagnostic imaging cloud tool, which was designed to be hosted on the cloud to curb data storage costs and speed up the integration of AI into under-resourced clinics.

GE Healthcare offers more than 200 digital and image-based applications across the world and manages more than four million medical devices.
