Vocera’s communication and collaboration platform enables secure text messaging, hands-free voice communication as well as integration with the Epic EHR system. The health system’s employees are utilizing a number of communication devices, including Vocera badges, personal smartphones and Zebra mobile computers. Franciscan Alliance is also using a Vocera mobile application for its patient and staff rounding.

“Our care teams are more in sync. Shortly after the technology deployment, we started seeing improvements in clinical workflows as a result of improved communication, allowing for much greater caregiver collaboration,” said Bill Laker, senior vice president of information services and CIO of Franciscan Alliance.
