Mr. Schmidt served as White House cybersecurity coordinator under former President Barack Obama from 2009 to 2012.
Most recently, Mr. Schmidt was a partner in Ridge-Schmidt Cyber. Throughout his career, he also served in multiple government roles, including time in the U.S. Air Force and as chief security strategist for the Department of Homeland Security’s United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team Partners Program, according to the report.
Funeral services will be held March 10.
