Mr. Thompson previously served in a variety of leadership positions at Redwood City, Calif.-based Oracle, most recently as vice president of end user services. In addition, he held IT roles at BEA Systems and Riverstone Networks.
Mr. Thompson replaces Informatica’s previous CIO, Ginna Raahauge, who held the position since July 2015.
Informatica went private in 2015 and in January named Anil Chakravarthy, PhD, CEO, and Bruce Chizen executive chairman.
