Former Google ad developer to lead startup focused on blood test for cancer

Jeff Huber, formerly a lead developer for Google’s ad software, is now going to be CEO of a new venture, according to a Forbes report.

On Nov. 10, 2015, Mr. Huber lost his wife to colon cancer. He is now going to be the CEO of the startup Grail, which will focus on the development of an early detection blood test for cancer.

The company, created by genetic variation and biological function analysis company Illumina, is backed by funding from its founder, Sutter Hill Ventures, ARCH Ventures, Bezos Expeditions and Bill Gates, according to the report.

Grail has already raised $100 million.
