Dr. Steele is currently vice chair of the Health Transformation Alliance, an organization of 40-plus employers focused on improving healthcare outcomes. Additionally, he serves on the board of directors for WellCare Health Plans and Ingenious Med.
Previously, he served as president and CEO of Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger Health System for 14 years. He was also chairman of xG Health, a Geisinger-affiliated consultancy.
Dr. Steele is a member of the National Academy of Medicine and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has served as the Richard T. Crane Professor in the University of Chicago’s surgery department and as vice president for medical affairs and dean of the biological sciences division at the Pritzker School of Medicine in Chicago.
