First Medicare Payments to Be Paid Out to Meaningful EHR Users

The first wave of Medicare incentive payments are expected to be distributed to meaningful users of electronic health records this week, according to a Government Health IT news report.

So far, several hospitals have announced they expect to receive incentive payments, including Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff, Ark., Beaumont Hospitals based in Royal Oak, Mich., and Detroit Medical Center. The hospitals are expecting $3 million, $10.3 million and $16-17 million, respectively.
