Epic tops EHR vendors used by physicians attesting to MU

Thirty percent of providers participating in the Medicare EHR Incentive Program are using Epic’s EHR to attest, as of June 2016, making it the most-used vendor, according to the latest ONC data.

More than 630 vendors provided certified health IT to 337,432 providers participating in the meaningful use program. More than three-quarters of attesting providers are using 2014 certified edition technology. According to the ONC, 75,903 providers are using Epic’s 2014 certified technology to attest. The second most used vendor is Allscripts, with 26,247 providers using its 2014 certified technology to attest, and third is eClinicalWorks, with 21,019.

Epic, Allscripts, eClinicalWorks, athenahealth and NextGen Healthcare provide technology to 60 percent of all providers attesting to meaningful use using 2014 edition certified technology.
