Epic to add identity verification integration

Epic is developing an identity verification option for EpicCare Link designed to reduce manual onboarding and improve security for community-based providers.

The feature, now under construction in Epic’s Identity Verification Toolbox and being developed with security firm Clear, will allow affiliated providers and staff to complete account creation and recovery through a secure, self-service  verification workflow, according to an Aug. 7 news release from Clear.

The tool will be designed to support IAL2 standards and other advanced verification protocols. It builds on a similar Clear-powered integration that Epic plans to release for MyChart in its November update, giving health systems new options to secure both patient- and provider-facing access points while reducing administrative burden, the release said.

At the Becker's 11th Annual IT + Revenue Cycle Conference: The Future of AI & Digital Health, taking place September 14–17 in Chicago, healthcare executives and digital leaders from across the country will come together to explore how AI, interoperability, cybersecurity, and revenue cycle innovation are transforming care delivery, strengthening financial performance, and driving the next era of digital health.
